Since the inception of Tektroniks over 20 years ago the company has manufactured refrigeration control panels, however over the past 3 years Tektroniks have noticed that customer requirements and demands have changed radically. This has meant that Tektroniks now produce fewer “off the shelf” specification control panels with over 90% of production now focused on bespoke control panel builds to meet their customer’s exact requirements.
Tektroniks Business Development Manager, John Dyer, put this change in emphasis down to a move in customer expectation. John commented “In the past customers were content to order standard control panels from panel manufactures and then have an on-site engineer make amendments and adjustments to the setting, etc. What we are experiencing now is that customers want a system that is tailored to their exact needs and to be delivered ready to run. Here at Tektroniks we have recognised this emphasis shift and work closely with our customers to design bespoke control panel systems to their exact requirements and deliver them fully tested and ready to operate. Due to the bespoke service we offer we have seen a large number of new customers come to the business for help, we have also seen the complexity of the control panels we build increase considerably”.
What this means for the Tektroniks end customer is a bespoke control panel that is delivered in a condition where it only needs to be connected to the power supply/ ancillary systems and then switched on. All Tektroniks control panels are fully tested and the correct parameters for the refrigeration system operation are already pre-programmed so no further control panel system amendments should be necessary.
Tektroniks bespoke control panels are now being widely used across a large number of industry sectors, John Dyer commented further “We have recently installed control panels in HM Prisons, Hospitals and major hotel groups. Because of the massive difference in the complexity of the refrigeration system these business use it is essential to have a firm understanding of the customer’s requirements. We then ensure we work closely with the customer to ensure all of their system needs are met so that we can deliver a control panel which meets their expectations. The major benefit we have at Tektroniks is that, being both a control panel and refrigeration controls manufacturer, we have a total knowledge of the customers refrigeration needs.
